OBJECT OF THE GAME: To be the player with the lowest score at the end of the game. The game is over when one player reaches 350 points.
HOW TO PLAY: Every player picks a card. The person who picks the lowest number deals. The dealer can deal the cards to their loft or right. Once the cads are shuffled, each player is dealt 5 cards. The remainder of the deck is placed face down to form a “Draw” pile. If an “action” card (6, 7, or 3) or a “Wild” card (Jack or Screwed) is the first card turned up from the Draw pile; certain rules apply. (See function of action cards) The person the dealer deals to first starts the first play. He/she must select a card that is the same suit / number or play a wild card (Jack or Screwed). Next the player must take the selected card and toss it out on top of the drawn card. If the player has none of these cards and cannot play; a card must be picked up from the draw pile. (Follow same rules as explained earlier)
For example: The first card out is the 9 of hearts, player number one can put down another 9 (club, diamond or spade), another heart card, or a Wild card (Jack or Screwed). If the player does not have any of these cards to play, then the play must pick up a card from the draw pile. If the player is still not able to make a play, then the player losses a turn. The play moves on the to the next person in turn.
FUNCTION OF THE ACTION CARDS: The function of the Action Cards, and when they may be played are set forth below:
6&7 Cards- When this card is played, the person playing this card must play another card with it. The player must put out another card within the same suit or another 6/7 card (with a different symbol) with this card. IF, the player does not have another same suit card or another 6/7 card to play, then the player must pick a card from the Draw pile. If the Draw pile cannot be used, this player loses a turn. Play moves to the next person in turn. *If a 6/7 card is turned up at the beginning of the game, the dealer must play on that card first.
3 Card – When this card is played, the next person in turn must draw 3 cards from the Draw pile and losses a turn. (*They cannot add another 3 card for the next player to pick up 6 cards) The card can only be played on matching symbols or when another 3 card is played. If the 3 card turns up at the beginning of the deal, these rules apply.
Jack Card- This card can be played at any time regardless of the symbol. This card a “wild card” and allows the player to change the symbol at any time during the game. If the Jack Card is turned up at the beginning of the play, the person who dealt can call any symbol to start the game. BUT, cannot look at his/her hand or turn over the first discard pile card until a symbol is called.
SCREWED Card – the SCREWED card can be played at any time during the game. Even if the player has another playable card in his/her hand. When this card is played, the next player in turn must draw 5 cards or collect a card from each of the other players and misses a turn. IF a SCREWED card is turned up at the beginning of the game, the person next to play must draw 5 cards or collect a card from the other players and loses a turn. *The dealer will determine the symbol to start the play.
RESHUFFLING THE DECK: A reshuffling of the deck may be necessary if all cards are drawn during the game. (This does not mean the game is over) The player who picked up the last card must reshuffle the deck in order for the next player in turn to pick up a card and return to play.
GOING OUT: When a player has only one card left, he/she must yell out “last card”. Failure to do this can result in having to pick up one card from the draw pile. (However, this is only necessary if he/she is caught by one of the other players.)
Once a player has not cards left, the hand is over. Points are added up (see scoring) and written on score sheet. The play starts over again until one player reaches 350 points.
SCORING: All numbered cards (0-9) ….5 points King, Queen, and Ten card …. 10 points Ace card…15 points Jack card …. 20 points Screwed card (Red) …. 25 points Screwed card (Blue)…. 25 points Winning player (zero cards) …. 0 points
WINNING THE GAME: The game is scored by keeping a running total of the points each player is caught with at the end of each hand. When one player reached 350 points, the player with the lowest points is the winner.
TWO-HANDED PLAY: (This is played with the following special rules) Playing a 3 card at the endo of the hand, the player must pick a card from the draw pile. If the card is playable; this card must be played immediately.
NOTE: This card game can be played with a regular deck of cards. Substitute the JOKER cards for the SCREWED cards.
